The report presents the emerging community vision of The Ottawa Hospital’s new campus: a site that is integrated into its surrounding community that supports a healthier Ottawa. It follows three main themes as it outlines the community’s relationship with the hospital and opportunities for working with government partners on creating a healthy Ottawa:

Building a healthy Ottawa through institutional partnerships
Establishing a community network
The report has been endorsed by The Ottawa Hospital’s Board of Governors.

 

September 2018
This third-party report, based on the Ontario Public Engagement Framework and interviews with stakeholders, recommended a meaningful, transparent and inclusive process that includes open discussion and deliberation around important, values-based issues.

February 2018
This third-party report on The Ottawa Hospital’s special relationship with the Territory of Nunavut explores the intimate connection between culture and health services and outcomes. Developed through outreach to the Inuit community in Nunavut, the report identifies opportunities for a deeper understanding of cultural needs at the hospital, as well as improvements in care in the context of a new campus.

April 2018
This third-party report This report describes the Campus Engagement Group’s structure and governance and discusses its role in the process and how it will be used to help resolve complex issues.

December 2017
From November 22 to December 11, The Ottawa Hospital held seven events across the City of Ottawa and eastern Ontario to share information about hospital service planning and the ‘art of the possible’ of what 21^st-century hospitals look like in Canada and around the world.

January 2018
On January 31, 2018, The Ottawa Hospital held a community open house at the Lansdowne Park Horticulture Building. The event included an update on hospital services at all three TOH campuses, the background journey to a draft architectural concept, and an update on engagement.
